Summer Workshop Weeks
Masks will be worn by ArtSmart! Studio staff, workshop participants & all who enter the studio for the duration of indoor studio time. Masks may be removed during time spent outdoors.
Each workshop day begins promptly at9:00. There is no "early drop off." It is in your child's best interest to arrive on time, as project instructions and demonstration of techniques will be presented during the first 15 minutes of each workshop. Late arrivals may miss instruction and/or their choice of materials.
Seats will be assigned at the discretion of the studio director, unless requested by the parent via email prior to the start of the week.
In fairness to all attendees, seats will not be "saved," nor will seated children be moved to accommodate impromptu seating requests.
Not all media is washable... all are encouraged to dress for a mess (shoes included).
While all projects have been designed for the age range of those in attendance, some materials may be restricted for safety concerns (block carving tools, xacto knives & hot glue). In such a case, an alternate material/tool will be offered.
Cell phones are permitted in the studio, but artists should expect to keep them safely stored, as they will not be allowed on the worktables/floors. Other than referencing a project related image, artists will only be permitted to use them during break-time and at the conclusion of the workshop, should they like to photograph their own work.
Food is not permitted in the studio. However, artists are welcome to bring along a PEANUT FREE snack & beverage to enjoy during our mid-session break, held outdoors on the patio.
Artists are encouraged to bring along a beach chair/towel for outdoor seating during break. Chairs/towels may be left at the studio for the duration of the week, if desired.
Daily workshops conclude at 11:50 to allow time for clean up, storage of work in progress & dismissal. Dismissal is promptly at 12:00 from the patio.
The studio closes for the day at 12:05. In the event that a child is still in our care after 12:05, the person listed as "pickup" will be contacted, parents notified and a late fee will be applied (payable upon arrival the next workshop day).
